Red Spinel is on the front of a crown worn by Queen Victoria. It was considered a ruby as were all red stones. In 1783 Spinel was identified as the 170 carat red gem on the front of the famous crown. These earrings are made of graduated Spinel beads. They have the characteristic bright red color often confused with some Rubies. Earring length 1 1/2 inches.
